Kanchipuram Silk Sarees come from Kanchipuram, a weaving town in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, India. These handwoven sarees are made using mulberry silk, gold or silver zari and dyes. The saree consists of three parts - body, border and pallu. If the border and pallu have contrast colors, they are woven separately and then joined skillfully to make a finished piece. The motifs used in these sarees are temple, checkered, horizontal stripes (thandavalam), chariots, peacocks, lions, coins, parrots, mangoes etc. You will also find special pieces that have paintings woven onto them, like a Raja Ravi Varma painting for example. They are known for their craftsmanship, durability and lustre. They are a popular choice for weddings, festivals and parties.
We hope you enjoy our collection of Kanchipuram Silk Sarees.
